10 Things I love about Fall
  • The colors...I love rusts, greens and browns.....I am so an earth tone person!
  • Pumpkin bread, Pumpkin cookies, Pumpkin pie and Pumpkin doughnuts...getting some of these this Sunday at Pumpkinville!!
  • The smell of wet leaves on the ground.
  • The coolness in the air.
  • My cat getting "bigger" cause his winter coat is starting to come in.
  • Nights getting darker...kids go to bed earlier.
  • Figuring out what we want to dress up as for Halloween.
  • Baking and cooking...actually using the oven!!
  • Season premiers of all my favorite tv shows.
  • And getting ready for the holidays!!

What are your favorite things...please share!!

My "HighLights" ....and color

The color is a copper-y brown and the highlights are like a wheat blonde. Most of the time I just use color out of a box...so it was a treat to actually have it done at a salon!! Pic courtesy of Morgan!!!

Welcome Autumn

I thought I'd celebrate the first day of Autumn by making some Pear Bread. I was quite pleased at how it turned out!!

Pear Bread

2 or 3 fresh pears
1/2 c. salad oil
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. sour cream
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Pare and halve and core pears. Chop to get one cup of fruit. Beat oil and sugar together; blend well. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add sour cream and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to sugar mixture. Blend well. Add nuts and pears and mix. Bake at 350 degrees in greased 9x5 loaf pan 1 hour. Let cool 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan.

I also got out all of my Harvest decor. Can't wait to buy some pumpkins...I have a lot of neat ideas for them this year...besides eating them! I've had fun the last few days going through old magazines and finding neat ideas for Fall decor. I just plain love Fall. We went to the Harvest Festival in Lewiston yesterday. Didn't end up buying anything but a bottle of Cranberry wine and an old black plaster framed mirror, it's very heavy and needs quite a bit of cleaning up. I'll try to get pics up later of that and me do hair-do! I got it colored, highlighted and cut.

Ok, I'm off to do a bit of cleaning and to find some recipes for some kind of Italian Turkey cutlets to make for dinner tonight....ciao!!

I scrapped

Actually I've been getting quite a bit done. Over the weekend I made 5 layouts and one mini book for Cocoa Daisy.....to be shared soon. And then I did this one yesterday. I "think" I'm somewhat getting my groove back. Want to scrap right now but I need to get the girls in the tub.

I can't wait for the weekend.....Friday-getting out early and getting 2 new tires on my van, then I'm off to crop at my lss. Saturday-going to get my hair done(adding some color and a cut), going to a craft show and walking around some antique shops...bringing my camera of course. Just a nice little time to myself...yippee.

The weekend

is finally upon us! And I'm not working it...Woohooooo! Actually I'm suprised they didn't ask me to, we are busy...but then I would of said no anyhow! There's so much I need to get done at home. I'm gutting my bedroom and cleaning it top to bottom, making layouts for Cocoa Daisy, Henry's scrapping and repainting the sofits(sp?), family coming over at some point to play on the trampoline one last time before we take it down and well....just trying to relax at some point in between. Tonight I'm just sipping some coffee and checking out some websites I haven't been on much......nothing like some good ole computer time. Have a great weekend all!!

Back to School

It felt like the longest summer ever! Morgan is back to school....1st grade already! Lillie starts Pre-K on Monday. The house will be almost empty half of the day and I'm not even home to enjoy it. Maybe now Henry can get some housework done.....coughcoughyeahrightcoughcough.
I really wanted to break out some scrapping supplies tonight, but it's just too hot. We really had a great summer...never too hot....now that it's heading toward Fall.....all I want it cool weather. I think I just function better when it's cooler. I've been so grumpy today and I know it's because of the heat. Hopefully tomorrow will be cooler. I have to work for 4 hours in the morning, I really didn't want to, but I got suckered into it. Ah well...hope everyone is staying cool this evening and hope you all have a great weekend!

What is old is new again

Back to Blogger.....just couldn't justify paying for typepad when I wasn't posting anything.

So I'm back here...posting when and if I can.

For those of you who may have wondered what happened to me......just life.

Sometimes you just need to take the time to realize what is most important to you. Scrapping...not so much anymore. So I may not end up having many layouts posted here...but I will have photos every now and again.
