A sunny few days...Finally!

We were finally able to enjoy some sunshine this weekend! Got out and got a few photos when the clouds started to clear. Weather forecast for the next week...rain! Uggg! Well at least we were able to get some yard work done, and the girls got to go swimming ( in a very cold pool) at their cousins house.
Up this week, housecleaning, job hunting and hopefully some creative time since it will be raining...blah. Well have a great weekend whatever your plans include!

Bread box makeover!

A long time ago...in the scrapbooking days...I had turned my bread box into a cute rooster inspired type thing, lol! Yeah that has to go!
Now inspired by my lime green pyrex and the hopes I have of eventually getting a Lime Green Kitchenaid Mixer, I know a girl can dream, here is my lime green bread box! Thinking of either stenciling in white "bread" across the front or have my hubby airbrush it saying bread in a cool airstream type font. So which do you thing would be more interesting?

While it's been nice out!

Well first I'd like to introduce you to Lucy! We got her last Saturday and she is fitting in here quite well. She is a Black and Tan Coonhound. And everything she does is coonhoundish! Loves to lay in the sun, has a wonderful Bay, and is just downright sweet! I Love Lucy!!!

I've actually gotten some planting and gardening done! Made a little raised garden out of an old foot locker. Right now it just has my lettuce growing in it. Got some pretty Petunias in my planters. And planted about 5 Hostas along the front of our house where nothing ever wants to grow. Yes I feel accomplished....all before then impending week of rain coming!
Wait a minute! I'm the one that did all the work...why is she napping?

Maybe she will be a Star!!!

On facebook today Country Living Magazine
was asking for photos of your kitties, they could be the Reader Pet of the Month. So I posted a pic on there. We shall see!!! Guess she deserves a little spotlight since her world will change in a few days. We are going to look at ( yeah right, get) a dog on Saturday. She is an 8 month old lack and Tan Coonhound! My poor kitty will probably hate us forever!

Don't they have such a pretty voice!!!

Mid-day Snack - Pumpkin Muffins

Sometimes I get in the mood to bake, yesterday was Snickerdoodles, today was Pumpkin Muffins! Here's the Recipe from Betty Crocker's Bisquick Cookbook.

2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/4 cup sugar ( next time I will use 1/2 cup)
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/ tsp ginger
1 egg
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup milk
Heat oven to 400 degrees
Mix all ingredients; beat for about a minute.
Fill 12 greased medium muffin cups or paper-lined muffin cup 2/3 full.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 1 dozen.

Oh and sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top so the kids will be sure to eat them!!
