Last post of 2009

Really glad it's over. I would love to wake up tomorrow and it be a bright and shiny new day. But then reality will set in. I would love to say that this has been one hell of a year, but if was rough, just like years before. Yes, there was good moments.....but there should of been more. We all get so caught up in life. Things we have no power to change. With the New Year I should have a big ole list of resolutions. But I don't because I never stick to them. Instead I'm just going to take one day at a time and be thankful for what I have, what we have, not dwell on the past and live life...as it comes! Happy New Year!

Pear Bread

First off I have to mention that mom took me to Vidler's yesterday. A fun store in East Aurora, NY. Loved their cooking section!! I could go nuts in there if I had any decent amount of money, lol.

We got a basket of fruits from henry's dad and stepmom for Christmas. My girls devoured all the apples but I still had some pears left. So when you have pears...make Pear Bread!!

• Darwin Martin House - a place mom mentioned.
• Forest Lawn - Seriously the most beautiful cemetary ever!
• Millionaires' Row - think this would be a nice walk.
• Elmwood Ave - A day to spend walking, photographing and shopping.
• Delish - one of the must see shops on Elmwood!
• Elmwood village Fabrics - yet another must see shop.

I'll add more later....must actually get some housework done right now.

I Love Fall!

Easy Taco Pie and nope I'm still here....

Taco Pie

1 lb ground beef

1/2 c. salsa

2 tbsp taco seasoning

1 c. shredded cheddar cheese

2 eggs

1 c. milk

1/2 c. baking mix

In a lage skillet cook beef, stir in salsa and taco seasoning. Transfer to a greased 9 in pie plate, sprinkle with cheese. In a bowl, combine eggs, milk and baking mix, just until blended, pour over cheese. Bake at 400 for 25-30 minutes. Serves six.

Quick, easy and gets devoured quickly! Got the recipe frome Taste of Home's Quick Cooking Jan/Feb 2003 issue. Changed it a little to suit our family's taste. In other words I left out 1 large onion chopped and 1/4 tsp of pepper. There's enough onion in the salsa for my taste.

Today I'll be baking with pumpkin and apples. And there will be some pumpkin carving going on here. So hopefully I'll have some photos of that to share with you. If I can keep my children off my computer I may be able to spend a little more time here. :)

Thinking of shutting this blog down. Haven't had time to post anything. Haven't had time for much of anything. We'll see, i'll give it a few days thought.

Summer's Ending

Only one more week till school starts. Summer is offically coming to an end, even though we barely had one this year. I can already feel fall in the air. I'm not really complaing, fall is my favorite time of year. We took the girls to the Wilson field days yesterday. Watched the parade and let them go on a few rides. It was a good day....good family fun!

Went to Olcott Beach tonight with my mom and the girls. Took a ton of photos!! Here are a few but if you want to see the rest you have to go to my Flickr to see the rest. Had a very nice time. So glad mom is enjoying her new hobby too...lol!

Dinner!

In effort to start blogging more...I'm sharing my dinner with you. I'm all about quick and easy dinners. This one I found in my favorite recipe magazine Everyday Food . It's called Chicken, Ham, and Cheese Roll-Ups . The only thing I did differently is added a little garlic salt, next time I think I may add more. So thumbs up, it was very good!

The past two days have been nuts here. We have had tons of rain and thunderstorms. Only one more on its way then hopefully sunny skies for the next week.

The girls took advatage of the fact that we don't have a pool! Makes you want to be a kid again!

Busy Summer....Bad Blogger

Been doing alot....alot of nothing really, lol. The one thing I haven't been doing is going out and taking photos. Last night I took the girls and mom to Fort Niagara Beach. We had a great time taking photos, so glad my mom is gaining more of an interest in photography...it makes a daughter proud!!!

i am creating... nothing right now...boohoo!

i am reading... Breaking Dawn.....well haven't picked it up since March.

i am hoping... that our kids actually figure out how to occupy themselves sometime this summer.

i am hearing... 5 screaming girls on the trampoline....2 nieghbor girls just showed up...umm and it's 8:10pm!

around the house... it's messy, I need to clean, been seriously lacking the energy though.

one of my favorite things... sleeping in....I hope I get to tomorrow morning.

This is Max! We thought we lost him sometime last year around September. Well this past Saturday night he found us again! 9 months he's been gone. I am still in shock and disbelief. He is skinny and dirty. Only God and him know where he has been.
