Seems like a little flu bug has hit our household. Hope I'm not next. But since they are sick...I got to scrap!!!
Now a days it seems like everyone is branching out into other types of crafts. I have always been into some kind of art or craft. I think it started in high school with my art classes and home ec. I remember some of my first sewn items...pillows that spelled my name, a red and black plaid shirt that I got a 100 on and a very skinny long red skirt...never really wore that much. In my early 20's I got into making beaded necklaces...usually long ones so I didn't have to use a clasp. Then came the painting of any kind of wood thing I could find, then floral arrangements. Then back to beading....with my sister's help this time. (*note to self...make her put her stuff on Etsy!!). And then in 2003 I started scrapbooking...and have been pretty much hooked since then. But even within scrapbooking comes a variety of things to do...rubber stamping, carmaking, altered books, altered items, home decor and general paper crafts. Things I would love to learn would be knitting, quilting and maybe crocheting. 
I came across this blog today that really peeked my interest. Her name is Becky New and she has started an Art group called "Life it Photos". One of my goals this year is to really grow in my photography. To take more interesting photos, photos that tell a story, photos that one day my great-grandchildren will look at and be in awe.....much like I do at my Great-Grandmother's photos( all on slides). The photo above is on my drive to work...."My Daily Commute". It was taken in April 06....the view hasn't changed....only the position of the sun.
Henry's Grandmother Rose passed away this morning. Last week I had mentioned her and had mentioned the small conversation that we had. It's Monday Rose, Beautiful Monday.

Now that I have found Flickr, I just can not stop playing with my photos. I've been going back through them finding many I never scrapped and should of. This pic of Lillie was taken back in September when we went to Pumpkinville. She was sitting waiting for the others while they went through the corn maze, I didn't want her going in cause I just knew they would loose her! Or her them...but anyhow....This photo really makes my wonder what she is thinking. This is my moody little girl, one minute she is beyond lovable, the next she is telling you she hates you! She was supposed to be born on my B-day and ending coming two weeks early. I see so much of myself in her it's scary, we are both moody Cancer girls. She is what I wanted to be as a child, her personality, her looks, her fierce Independence. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her. She's not going to let anything or anyone stand in her way!

I miss summer already! This was inspired by my friend Judi's layout. I really do like getting back to more simple layouts....I think I need to keep this in my head when creating this year. Keep it simple! And to do more 8-1/2x11 layouts that way I can actually put them away in binders! I'm off the natives are restless this morning! Have a good weekend!
someone musically? For me it is Dallas Green. He has this little side gig called City and Colour and is a member of the band Alexisonfire and they hail from St. Catherines, Ont., which is just hop across the ditch from me. When I first heard him sing my heart melted. And now he has a new album coming out on Feb. 12th....I'm so excited. Anyhow, back in March I saw AOF here in Buffalo....it was great. But what was even better was that I practically had dinner with him before the show. Me and sis went to eat at TGIF's and when we got our seat I looked over and he along with a few other members of the band were at the table next to us. I was so close and never said a word...I wish I would have, but I'm sure he would of thought I was his oldest(age wise) groupie ever!! If you get a chance to visit his page you must listen to the song "Waiting". I have listened to it at least 15 times already today.
Wow my 50th post on this blog already....I miss typepad, lol.
I think it's going to be a good year!!
